At C3 Church Balmain we hope to provide a place of connection in the midst of our community. Our involvement comes in different ways, helping out people and organisations financially where appropriate, looking for and meeting needs where possible and being a place of hope when people are struggling with fear and anxiety. The events listed below give examples of activities we are involved in to build and better our community. Jellybeans PlaygroupFinding a place to connect with community mums and carers while looking after toddlers can be difficult. Karen Grant begun Jellybeans as a vision to provide a place of informal gathering for people with young children from birth to four years of age. Jellybeans is now in it's third year and is a great a place for making friends and having fun for both children, parents and carers. Jellybeans is a place of cooperation, creativity and caring. Children will experience the joy of simple things in a warm and safe environment where adults and children care about each other and learn from each other. Christians Against Poverty (CAP)Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counselling charity working through a network of centres based in local churches. CAP offers hope and a solution to anyone in debt through its unique, in-depth service. CAP aims to show God's love in action by providing sustainable poverty relief through free debt counselling, advice and practical help. At C3 Church Balmain, Ted Beecher oversees our CAP programs. One of the key aims we have is to see families released from the bondage and oppression of debt. With over 2 million Australians living below the poverty line, it's so wonderful knowing we have a solution that is sustainable, practical and is seeing lives radically transformed. CAPS Australia is absolutely delighted that over 35 families have become debt free this year and they are expecting dozens more in the next few months. Hope St Urban Compassion and Rozelle VinniesSometimes the best way to help the community is to help those already doing a great job. We give financially toward these two great works in our community.
