What We Believe

Our Vision:

A thriving church community transforming the spiritual and social well-being of Balmain and beyond.

Our Purpose:

Reach  Build  Empower.

  • Reaching people who are away from God and lead them into a relationship with him through Jesus Christ.
  • Building solid connections and relationships. Building strong, resilient, influencers. Building church community. Building disciples.
  • Empowering people to live their best life, to make a difference, to live for others and to live for a God inspired purpose.

C3 Balmain is a fun, relevant and positive church, full of normal everyday people. We believe in connection because we know that is what everyone needs in their world: meaningful, lasting connections to a real, life changing God and a support group of believers and friends. We are a part of the C3 network of churches.

We believe Jesus came to transform people's lives and we want to connect with Him everyday, in every aspect of our life. When we connect to God, our world changes for the better, and we begin a journey of discovering who we are, who God is and the reason he made us the way we are. We desire to see each person growing in their faith, empowered for living life well and equipped for effective and joyful service.

We believe in tithing. The word tithe means the giving of 10% of our income to the Lord. We believe it is a biblical principle and encourage it in church. God does not cheat us by asking us to give, but opens a way for financial blessing. The word give appears in the bible three times more than the word love. We will never become like Jesus Christ until we learn generosity toward God and man.

We believe:

  • There is one God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit;
  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God; we believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His constant intercession and in His imminent return;
  • In the person and work of the Holy Spirit with His fruit and gifts available in the Church;
  • The Bible is the word of God - authoritative and everlasting, and the foundation of all Christian doctrine;
  • In the existence of an evil spiritual being-the devil;
  • In the spiritually lost condition of all people and the essential need for the "new birth" by faith in Jesus Christ;
  • In the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift available to believers, with the normal evidence of speaking in other tongues;
  • In the sacraments of the Lord's Supper and baptism by full immersion in water for all believers;
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting separation from God;
  • In the church being the body of Christ, and each member being an active part of a local church, fulfilling the Great Commission.
